What we collect
FollowUp collects the following data to provide its service:
- Your email address and name (when you sign up)
- Google Calendar event data (meeting titles, times, attendee names and emails)
- Meeting transcripts or audio recordings (used solely to generate summaries and action items)
- Email draft content (generated from your meeting transcript)
- OAuth tokens for Google Calendar and Gmail (stored encrypted, used only to read your calendar and send emails on your behalf)
How we use your data
- Meeting transcripts are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to extract action items, decisions, and generate follow-up email drafts. They are not used to train AI models.
- Google Calendar data is used only to detect when meetings end and to identify attendees. We do not read or store unrelated calendar events.
- Gmail access is used only to send follow-up emails that you explicitly approve. We never read your inbox.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
Google user data
FollowUp's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted in the EU. OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Meeting transcripts and summaries are retained until you delete your account or the meeting manually.
Third-party services
FollowUp uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic — AI processing of meeting transcripts
- AssemblyAI — Speech-to-text transcription
- Supabase — Database and authentication
- Resend — Transactional email delivery
- Google APIs — Calendar and Gmail integration
- Inngest — Background job processing
Your rights
- You can export all your data from Settings → Export data
- You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account
- You can disconnect Google Calendar or Gmail at any time from the Integrations page

Changes to this policy
We will notify you by email if we make material changes to this privacy policy.
